ETIAS stands for "European Travel Information and Authorization System." It is an electronic travel authorization that is being developed by the European Union (EU) to enhance security and better manage migration flows entering the Schengen Area, compromised of 30 countries. Frontex, the European border and coast guard agency, stated in 2021 that it estimated 1.4 billion people will need to apply for an ETIAS before traveling to Europe when the policy comes into effect.
There are currently 59 announced nationalities that are eligible for ETIAS. They are listed below.

Travellers entering the Schengen Area will require an ETIAS. The Schegen Area includes the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.
